Polymedia installed 500 square meters of LED at Formula 1 Baku

Polymedia took part in a big project on the organization of the European Grand Prix race "Formula 1" in the Eurodesign command, the general contractor Baku City Circuit for electronic security tracks.

Three days from 17 to 19 June 2016 became the most exciting international event in the Baku city life, and for both of companies – one of the most challenging and complex projects (that's why all the audiovisual preparation were began in July last year).

On the entire length of the 6-kilometer race track in spectator and entertainment areas were installed huge LED POLYLED with the total area of 500 square meters (the biggest screen reached 45 square meters).

Screens and mounting constructions have been specially designed for the event. Every single detail was strongly considered, even the most contradictory requirements: easy mobile installation and strength and safety design at once, small installations area and – what is the most important – matching local weather conditions (strong winds and baking sun).

Wind-resistant and anti-vandal screens on the DIP-diodes with a pixel of 10 mm perfectly suited. The image contrast and brightness resisted even the Baku merciless sun!

Each screen has been connected to the control system, which allows the operator to track the operability of screens at any time.

"Before the "hot" period, we many times checked our equipment. Testing all racing electronics, including LED, was held in a special area where all the equipment was set by analogy with a real track at a scale close to 1: 1. Thanks to the coordinated work of our professionals and Eurodesign team and also to the detailed preliminary design, our important project was succeeded", said Rufat Mamedov, CEO at Polymedia-Azerbajdzhan.

"Polymedia was in charge of a full range of works – quality control in the manufacture, supply, installation, commissioning and configuration of audio-visual equipment, and even provided technical support during event. Nowadays it is difficult to find a company that can perform such a complex AV project. We are pleased that Baku has an audiovisual system integrator of such a high level, and look forward to working in new and interesting projects together. On behalf of our company, I thank the whole team that worked on the "Formula 1" project for the professional work! "commented Rovshan Ahmadov, Technology Director at Eurodesign.
