AV Programming Engineer

Delivers the functionality of complete Audio-Visual Systems and Workspace Collaboration Technologies-enabled projects through the configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of AV equipment as per project documentation and the client's requirements.

Job Duties

  • Testing & Commissioning, Configuration of AV and ICT equipment & software at the customer's site according to project documentation and project schedule;
  • Programming of Integrated Control Systems of different vendors;
  • Configuration, administration of local networks, LANs, and VLANs;
  • Provides AV complexes integration with third party systems (Fire Alarm, Public Address, Lighting, BMS, etc.);
  • Work in close coordination with HQ or vendors Technical Support in order to rectify all faulty systems/units;
  • Installation, configuration, administration of OS for desktops, servers (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Supports project handing over by AV complexes functionality presentation and performance demonstration for clients; client's comments rectification;
  • Conducts trainings for clients;
  • Remote/on-site client support, consulting, and assistance;
  • GUI Forms, T&C Method Statements, User Operation and Manuals, and other required documentation development;
  • Coordination with the client's IT, AV or other related services on project-related matters;
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending professional workshops, classes, trainings, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional associations;
  • Contributes to project delivery effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending troubleshooting options, and implementing directives;
  • Supports project planning by operations duration estimation, sequencing project processes;
  • Keeps Project Manager informed about project progress, dependencies, obstacles; maintains actual project status in corporate project management systems (software, mobile apps, etc);
  • Supervises subcontractors to deliver projects with the best quality and in a timely manner;
  • Executes works in accordance with approved project documentation and vendors' best practices.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Programming, Computer Science, or Engineering;
  • Three years of experience in an Audio-Visual Systems Integration organization;
  • Candidates with IT administration and smart home automation experience and certified by vendors like Crestron, Extron, Atlona, Televic, Bosch, and Bose are preferred.
  • Location: Dubai Media City, Dubai, UAE, with 50–100% self-facilitated travel.

Experience

  • Three years of Control Systems Integration (required).

License/Certification

  • Certification from Crestron, Extron, Shure, or Bosch (required).
  • Diploma attested in the UAE (required).
